Hodge Exposed in Barking and Dagenham Sentinel

The Barking and Dagenham Sentinel - being delivered free to all homes in Barking – has dealt a crushing blow to the hopes for re-election of Margaret Hodge. Hodge stands revealed for her record on the Iraq war, her expenses claims and her failure to deal with serious child abuse when she was Head of Islington Council. The paper suggests that the ‘hold your nose and vote Labour’ approach would be immoral and inappropriate  in this instance. Many principled anti-racists are rejecting Hodge and instead intend to vote for the Green Party. Other committed Labour supporters are deciding to stay at home as no  genuine, principled Labour candidate is standing in the Constituency.

Please take the time to read this fantastic newspaper exposing the vile Margaret Hodge, MP. I say MP but hopefully after Thursday that wil be ex-MP. 50,000 of the printed edition of this newspaper are going out in Barking and Dagenham. It will certainly make people think there.

Hodge is a “control freak” – Labour dissidents

Hodge: 'Control Freak'

Hodge was unpopular as a Council leader in Islington amongst some Labour activists who accused her of being domineering and dictatorial. In Barking and Dagenham a number of prominent councillors have been de-selected , including Val Rush, cabinet member for the environment, and planning chair John Denyer.

The Labour Left paper Tribune  (1) stated:-

”Asked what linked the councillors together, one activist said: “They’re all people who didn’t like Margaret”. Another declared: “She is a control freak and she wants total control… I can see the BNP controlling the council”.

As one blogger commented:-

“Hodge’s performance in the expenses scandal did not add to the tally of her admirers, and she was widely disliked, seen as an Islington millionairess who rarely visited the constituency.”

“To cut a long story short, Hodge had long ago fallen out with a substantial part of her CLP, and her supporters swung into action earlier this year, identifying and marginalising dissidents. As this included a number of local Labour councillors, it led to the deselection of several sitting councillors”

Several of the purged councillors have announced that they will be standing as Independent candidates in the local elections.  One local paper reported on the split and quoted Cllr Denyer at length:-

”And the fact they have used my disability as an excuse to de-select me shows them in a very poor light.

“Exactly the same thing has happened to Fred Barns who has been an excellent Thames Ward councillor.

“They are getting rid of ward councillors who have served their party and their community well.

“In their haste to change things the Labour Party has lost a lot of experience.

“I think this will come back to bite them.” told the POST: “I feel disappointed and let down by the Labour Party.”

Cllr Denyer also raised concerns over the opportunities these de-selections will afford the opposition party.” (3)

Margaret Hoxha?

Hoxha?

QUESTION:

What do a hated foreign Communist dictator and a rich ‘Socialist’ British MP have in common?

 ANSWER.

They were both known as Enver!

THE dictator in question was Enver Hoxha of Albania (1).  To this day, no-one is too sure how many people ‘disappeared’ whilst he ruled.  However, it’s probably safe to assume that he would have gave Hitler (2), Stalin (3) and Pol Pot (4) a run for their money!

Hoxha ruled Albania with an iron fist.  The Sigurimi (Albanian secret police) routinely violated the privacy of persons, homes, and communications and made arbitrary arrests.

Hodge?

And the rich ‘Socialist’ British MP?  Well, it’s Margaret Hodge – MP for Barking in East London.

So what’s the link?

In 1973, Hodge was elected as a councillor in the Borough of Islington in North London (5).  Later on – in 1982 – she became the Leader of Islington Council.  She held this post for ten years (6).

It was during this time that she became referred to as “Enver Hodge” (7).  (‘Hoxha’ is pronounced  ‘Hodga’ and sounds like Hodge). She had become the focus of antagonism from “old-guard”, former Labour Party members who felt that their party had been “taken over” by middle-class incomers.

Apparently, in those days, Hodge sported a bust of Lenin and flew the red flag over the town hall (8).

These days, Hodge is probably not so keen on spreading the wealth.  According to a report in The Times, the Oppenheimer family, of which Hodge is a member, is worth a cool £178m (9).

That’s not bad for a British ‘Socialist’ MP is it?
