Hodge Exposed in Barking and Dagenham Sentinel

The Barking and Dagenham Sentinel - being delivered free to all homes in Barking – has dealt a crushing blow to the hopes for re-election of Margaret Hodge. Hodge stands revealed for her record on the Iraq war, her expenses claims and her failure to deal with serious child abuse when she was Head of Islington Council. The paper suggests that the ‘hold your nose and vote Labour’ approach would be immoral and inappropriate  in this instance. Many principled anti-racists are rejecting Hodge and instead intend to vote for the Green Party. Other committed Labour supporters are deciding to stay at home as no  genuine, principled Labour candidate is standing in the Constituency.

Please take the time to read this fantastic newspaper exposing the vile Margaret Hodge, MP. I say MP but hopefully after Thursday that wil be ex-MP. 50,000 of the printed edition of this newspaper are going out in Barking and Dagenham. It will certainly make people think there.

We want you to help spread the pdf  of this fantastic newspaper and the link to it around the Internet. You can:-

Hodge voted for war

IN 1968 Margaret Hodge was one of several thousand demonstrators who protested outside the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square, Central London.  At the time she was protesting against the US military campaign in Vietnam.

Yet she backed the Iraq war in the Commons vote on the eve of the invasion and voted against demands for a full inquiry.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, her privately held belief is that the 2003 invasion was wrong.  She called it Tony Blair’s “big mistake in foreign affairs”.

We recognize that people can – and do – change their views over time.  But why would a one-time anti-war campaigner vote for war?  Why did Hodge vote for a war that she opposes?

She claims that she had believed Mr Blair when he assured MPs that Iraq posed a danger.  “He was our leader and I trusted him.”

But did she really and truly believe all that nonsense about Weapons of Mass Destruction?

Let’s be honest with ourselves.  Most people believe that the Iraq war was more about oil than 9/11 and WMD.  They feel that the only ones gaining from the invasion are the military bigwigs, armaments companies and those picking up contracts for the reconstruction of Iraq (and now Afghanistan).

We all know about the 7/7 revenge bombings in London by Islamic militants.

We’ve the like of Hodge to thank for that.  She has got us involved in a foreign quarrel in which no British interest is at stake.  It’s one thing fighting for national survival, but quite another to play Deputy Dawg to the US Government Global Sheriff.

If Hodge is so keen on war, why doesn’t she go over there and fight?

It’s time to get real.  It’s time to get British Troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan!
